The challenge
The client needed to increase cluster elasticity and interface with the existing application, as well
as have the ability to incorporate automated decision-making and notifications based on business scale. Scaling the size of the data warehouse in AWS would take too long to complete using older technologies such as Enterprise mode.
A solution optimized for client demand
Beyondsoft worked with the client on a Vertica EON proof of concept.
A single Terraform template provisioned the Vertica infrastructure and supporting AWS resources.
The team measured load and query performance, then compared data-lake query technologies, including Athena, Spectrum and Vertica External Tables.
