Unified data platform migration reduces banking costs and improves efficiency

2 min read

The challenge

The bank used a Teradata Business Intelligence Platform to hold sensitive data accessed and updated by third-party vendors.

Limited monitoring capabilities made the platform difficult to manage. Rising costs and changing business requirements created a need for a modern unified data platform.

The solution

Beyondsoft migrated more than 1,000 sensitive datasets and 23 regulatory reporting functions to the new platform.

An automated comparison tool validated datasets between the legacy and target platforms. A third-party tool accelerated conversion from Teradata SQL to Sparkola SQL.

Beyondsoft also designed a custom access-control system based on the bank’s existing proprietary Spark tool.

Beyondsoft followed strict deployment protocols to protect sensitive, business-critical data and meet regulatory requirements.

The team planned for capacity constraints, data dependencies and system conflicts while managing changes to the environment during migration.

It also cleaned up the customer’s environment, resolving 120 critical issues.
